Do you struggle to get to the gym? Is it hard to carve out an hour for your exercise routine? Are you sitting behind a desk all day or taking care of your children? Whatever your situation may be, it is possible to get the exercise that your body needs. You may not be able to do a vigorous exercise regiment every day, but you can add exercise to your daily routine.

Walking is an excellent way to get your body moving! Just put on your walking shoes and get going. Here are some simple ways to increase your daily steps which will in turn increase your exercise.

Investing in a step counter is an excellent way to increase your daily steps. You clip it on each morning and it records the number of steps you take each day. This will give you the incentive to work harder. Set a step goal and when you reach that goal set another!

Park your car far from your destination whether it is the office building, mall, factory, school, or grocery store. Don't look for the closest parking spot, but rather the farthest one. Walk!

Take the stairs! Do not stand idle in the elevator or on the escalator, burn some calories. If you cannot make it all the way to the top floor, take the stairs halfway up and ride the rest of the way. Eventually you will be able to take the stairs the whole way to the top.

Use part of your lunch break to take a walk around the outside of your workplace or through the halls of the office. If you are at home with little ones, load up the stroller and take a short walk before naptime. Recruit friends or co-workers to walk with you for accountability and companionship.

Spend time with your family. Go outside and play ball, jump on the trampoline, play tag, take a nature walk, or ride bicycles. If weather doesn't permit outdoor activity, put on some music and dance together or take your family to the mall and walk around. When you are having fun, it doesn't seem so much like exercise.

Add a brisk walk to a few days of your week. Take a walk around your neighborhood, the local park, or the nearest shopping mall. The location doesn't matter; the fact that you are moving does.
