Legally Blond the Musical: Musicals Are My Porn - I have a secret. Musicals are my porn. I didn't fully realize it until I found myself secretly watching Legally Blonde The Musical on Saturday when it aired on MTV. I didn't go looking for Legally Blonde The Musical, I just happened to stop on it while channel surfing.

As I watched Legally Blonde The Musical in awe, slight confusion, and excitement, I kept the remote control in my hand, ready to turn the channel at moment's notice. If someone had walked into the room I, I didn't want to get get caught watching it. Or any musical for that matter.

Musicals Are My Porn

I take a private pleasure in watching musicals, one that I cannot explain. I think musicals are my porn.

It could be because I am anything but musical, having made that fateful choice in fifth grade between music class and art class. There was a little (not so little) education cut called Proposition 2 1/2. Schools could no longer afford to teach students both subjects.

Musicals: My Porn, My Secret Shame

I also realize, that one of the movies which also embarrassingly shows up on my top five favorite movie list is also a musical.

My name is Pam and I like Grease. I remember seeing Grease the movie when I was in fifth grade, the same time that I had to make that choice between art and music.

Even though when I watch the musical Grease today I am a bit shocked at the not-so-Innocent songs and sexual nature of the film. Seeing the film again, I was surprised to hear certain words and phrases in the songs, including "pussy-wagon."

In fact, musicals seem to get away with more in terms of sexual discussion than other types of movies. One that come to mind is Evita. Somehow it's okay that the main character slept her way to the top, simply because she tells the audience in song.

Chicago is another tasty and decadent movie that comes to mind, with its sexual, carefree '20s attitudes towards sex.

Other musicals which you might find in my 5-disc DVD player include the spectacular and visually decadent Moulin Rouge, the historically romantic Meet Me in St. Louis, the cautionary Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I love musicals. I have every one you mentioned in your article on DVD. I have seen almost every traveling Broadway show. Your article is so funny - your free porn! I am really glad musicals made a revival, so I can go see some on the big screen. I am still banned from logging in to AC - have no idea why; but I will continue to read your articles. I enjoy your work.
