Great companies to work for encourage community support by allowing and conducting fund-raising projects in the workplace. This is one of the reasons why I am still working for my company, even if I get a better offer
somewhere else. My company instills in its employees the spirit of giving and encourages volunteer-ism, allowing its employees time away from work to be able to contribute time for a good cause. We have had employees devote their time in volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity and any other volunteer programs.

Every year, starting around September, we are already pumped up with ideas on how to support our community campaign. From 2nd week of September through 3rd week of October, we are busy with our office fund-raising campaign trying to break our record each year.

This year we are having more fun with our fund-raising projects than ever with the amount of money we will raise which we shall donate to various charities.

Here is a list of some of the fund-raising ideas that could certainly make everyone in your office open their hearts and their wallets:

Wow Cris...thanks for the "Goody Basket" tip. That is great. We will try it next time. :)
"Goody Basket" Silent Auction A supervisor picks a theme for a basket and the team members each donate an item to put in the basket related to the "theme" - - then the basket is wrapped in clear wrap, with a big bow. We place the baskets in a conference room from 10:00am-2:00pm with a paper & pen at each basket allowing staff to come in throughout the day and place a bid. At 2:00pm we blow a whistle and the bidding ends. The highest bidder gets to buy the basket. We have had themes like: Baby basket, Movie/Entertainment basket, Coffee/Tea basket, Knitting/Sewing basket, Toy basket, Italian Cooking basket, Bathing Fragrance basket, just to name a few. This is a VERY fun & exciting event especially when there are ten or five minutes left to bid, the last one minute can really get nasty between two bidders who REALLY want a particular basket. Some baskets go from $40.00 up to $200.00 or even $300.00.
Good tips!!!
Nice job;)
These are very inventive ideas, Josie. Sophie
Except at the Chamber of Commerce, I never had to do this, thanks goodness. Although I was pretty good at throwing a mean dinner/dance.
Great ideas! I love #1! At my old high school, they used to have a wear your jeans to work day for teachers every Friday for $5 I think it was. I never saw a teacher on a Friday who didn't wear jeans.
