Ten Strangest Baseball Injuries

In my article about the strangest sports injuries I failed to mention any strange baseball injuries. I didn't list any strange baseball injuries because baseball has so many strange injuries that they deserved their own list. Here are 10 of the strangest baseball injuries.

10. Bret Barberie
One season Bret Barberie missed some action because of his eye. His baseball injury didn't occur during a game though. Barberie was preparing tacos and touched his eyes without washing them and the chili peppers and hot sauce burned his eyes.

9. Sammy Sosa
Injuries are nothing to sneeze at. Everybody made that lame pun after Sammy Sosa's strange baseball injury. Sammy Sosa suffered back spasms after sneezing in the dugout.

8. Clint Barmes
Clint Barmes was off to a great start in his career before he suffered a broken collarbone. Clint Barmes' baseball injury occurred when he fell down carrying deer meet up his stairs.

7. Wade Boggs
Wade Boggs was always athletic with his baseball cleats but not so much with cowboy boots. Once Wade Boggs suffered his strange baseball injury when he fell on his couch while trying to put cowboy boots on.

6. Denny McLain
Denny McLain's strange baseball injury is very mysterious. One night Denny McLain went to bed completely healthy. The next night McLain woke up with four dislocated toes. I think the gnomes did it.

5. Glenallen Hill
Glenallen Hill suffered from arachnophobia and one night it led to his strange baseball injury. Glenallen Hill was sleeping on his couch one night when he had a bad nightmare about spiders it startled him and he fell through the glass table next to the couch.

4. Steve Sparks
Steve Sparks saw an inspirational speaker and it definitely inspired him but it led to a strange baseball injury. Steve Sparks dislocated his shoulder when he impersonated the inspirational speaker by trying to rip a phone book in half.

3. Marty Cordova
Marty Cordova has been known to visit a tanning bed or two, but one night his strange baseball injury occurred thanks to a tanning bed. Marty Cordova stayed in a tanning bed for too long and his face was too burned to play the next day.
