Choosing a kitchen countertop can seem like an agonizing decision. One that will remain with you for years to come. Before investing oodles of money, do some research and evaluate what look is fashionable, timely, and practical all the while fitting into your budget. Here are some different types of countertops including their advantages, disadvantages, practical uses and price ranges.STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel is used in commercial kitchen all throughout the world because it is scratch resistant, cleans easily, is indestructible and does not collect bacteria. These countertops are reasonably priced and can make a room feel larger because they reflect light. The major disadvantage to this type of countertop is that it makes a room feel sterile, which may not be the look you prefer.
GRANITE
Granite has become a popular counter top throughout the years because of its upscale appearance, affordable price range and practicality. Granite is a natural stone that comes in a variety of colors, textures and patterns. Home Depot, and other home improvement stores usually have a variety to choose from, however if you want more, you can find a granite retailer who will normally have a much larger selection.
Most stores will allow you to take home a 4x4 sample so you can look at the sample in your home. Keep in mind that since granite is a naturally occurring stone, the entire slab will not be a replicate of this test piece. There will be imperfections, especially on a large piece. Granite is cut in slabs to be assembled into counterparts. If you are weary of imperfection, visit the fabricator to pick out which slab you would like.
