After writing "A Traveler's Guide to Shopping: Gift/Souvenir Ideas from Japan" I received tons of messages from loyal Associated Content readers that were interested in purchasing Japanese gifts. The only contest to my article was that there were no links to purchase gifts from Japan while still living in America. The thought of adding resources for purchasing items in America slipped my mind for which I am extremely sorry. I completely understand everyone's request for more domestic information; after all not everyone can travel to Japan on a shopping trip. In addition, it is getting closer to the holiday season and many of you will want to purchase exotic items to give to others, so I hope that everyone can add a little Japanese culture into your shopping adventure this year without exiting your comfy house this winter.

Per the request of many of my loyal Associated Content readers, here are some links to purchase Japanese gifts while still living in America. All websites are in English.

Ah, I see I was hit by the jealous down-rater. So sad that someone has to be jealous enough to do that. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the article though!

I might have to check out some of these sites. My kids love Japanese anime so I am thinking something from Japan would be great!

Thank you! This is great information. As I mentioned to you several weeks ago, I have a huge collection of hima daruma dolls, most of which I purchased right on Ebay. (Be sure to spell the phrase correctly, and look at the dolls. The hima daruma are the beautiful, round cloth-covered princess dolls.) There is also a wonderful Japanese store on Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield, New Jersey that sells some incredible gifts here, too. Great article!

That is great. I love Japanese stuff. I used to shop at a Japanese mall in downtown Los Angeles all the time, and I really enjoyed shopping at Yeohan markets.
