Need a fun way to get around Disneyland? Then come in through the main entrance and head over to the Disneyland Railroad - Main Street Station.

RIDING THE TRAIN

The Disneyland Railroad has a 20-minute loop around Disneyland There are 5 Steam Powered Locomotives to ride on -
1.C.K. Holliday
2 E.P. Ripley
3 Fred Gurley
4 Ernest S. Marsh
5 Ward Kimball Lilly Belle Presidential Car

If you don't want to take the full loop you can hop off at one of the 3 other stations - New Orleans Square, Mickey's Toontown or Tomorrowland.

If you ride the scenic circle from the Main Street Station you get to see in the rides It's A Small World, The Autopia, and Splash Mountain. There is also an Indian Village and a cool Grand Canyon Diorama which shows the wildlife through the Seasons. In addition, keep your eyes open for dinosaurs roaming around a pre-historic canyon!

When my kids were small, it was a good way to keep the "still" for 20 minutes. They enjoyed being on the train and everything they saw. Now that they are older, they only want to hop on to avoid crowd and/or parades and get to another land quickly! They were amazed they were ever scared by the "lame" dinosaurs - LOL

NOTE Suspended after 9/11 they are again allowing rides with the train crews on locomotion's 1 & 2. They will take two adults or one adult and two kids.

THE MAIN STREET STATION

You get a view of the Disneyland Railroad - Main Street Station before you even get inside. In fact, when you pose for a picture in front (before getting inside) of the giant Mickey formed out of flowers, you get the station behind it. I have been to many train stations, one thing most of them have in common is a big clock, and this one does too. It is designed to blend architecturally with the rest of Main Street

The train station is smaller than the one in Florida. It is only one level and reads DISNEYLAND as the Stations name. There is an elevation sign on the roof, which states, 138 feet above sea level. The population number changes a few times a year match the amount of visitors to the park over the past five decades. There are many interesting items found inside.

Did You Know?
Each year, the Disney trains travel about 20,000 miles circling Disneyland Park

It's a lifesaver when young kids are tired of walking.
