The Best Accommodations in Istanbul, Turkey
One of the nicest hotels in Istanbul, Turkey is the Sirkeci Konak Hotel located next to the Topkapi in the heart of Old Istanbul. The Sirkeci Konak Hotel has 19th century charm with 21st century amenities and is one of the finest hotels in the exotic city of
Istanbul. Here you can enjoy all of the comforts of home in a hotel that is well known for its excellent hospitality. Each room at the Sirkeci Konak Hotel has a private bath.
In addition to being close to all of the attractions in Istanbul, such as the Grand Bazaar Market, the Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque, the Sirkeci Hotel has comforts that you would expect in any five star resort, without the five-star prices. The dollar goes a long way in Turkey and no where will that be more apparent than at the Sirkeci Hotel. The rooms have 10 foot ceilings with large, king sized beds and an excellent view of the city. The accommodations are very clean and have all modern conveniences, including television and internet access. The Sirkeci Hotel has a spacious, comfortable lounge and exquisite restaurant. There are also many other fine restaurants located in walking distance of the hotel. I find the Sirkeci Hotel to be excellent for couples and families as well.
One nice thing about visiting Istanbul is that if you stay in Old Istanbul, you are close to virtually everything the city has to offer by way of attractions as well as restaurants and shopping. There is no need to rent a car and although taxis are plentiful, you can go just about everywhere on foot.
Another fine hotel in Old Istanbul is the Ottoman Hotel Imperial, located in the heart of town near the magnificent Hagia Sophia with its colossal dome. The Ottoman Hotel Imperial is a large, historic building that has clean, modern accommodations at an excellent price. Depending upon the time of your visit, rooms at the Ottoman Hotel Imperial can go as low as $87 a night, which is much less than you would pay for a hotel of comparable quality in the United States. All rooms at the Ottoman Hotel Imperial offer a private bath for guests.
