The truth of the matter is, there is no real answer. It all depends on many factors. It also depends on you. Some people are better equipped to deal with it quickly, others take longer.
Some people face it sooner, others keep putting it off. Even if you took 2 individuals who both did the same things to get better, one would very likely improve quicker than the other.
Panic Attacks Can Last A Few Minutes Or Much Longer
A panic attack itself can last anywhere from a few seconds to several hours. Generally, it lasts for several minutes, although it feels longer to the person going through it.
When a panic attack hits you, it typically lasts for a few minutes. However, it can also leave you feeling jaded, scared, shocked and nervous. This can last for hours, perhaps even a few days.
Once again, it's important to realize that everyone is different. If you hear about someone's panic attack lasting 30 seconds and they overcame their panic disorder in 3 months and yours lasts 10 times longer, don't worry.
It doesn't mean that you're worse or there's no hope for you. There's plenty of hope and you will get better. Each person and situation is different.
As for a panic disorder, it can last for several months or even several years. Again, everyone is different, which is why there's a huge gap in how long it can last.
Panic attacks generally begin around the age of 18 to about 24. It can begin earlier or much later as well. For some reason, it affects women twice as much.
To Get Well, You Must Act Now!
There are many things these days you can do to get well. Obviously, there's the conventional methods of drugs and cognitive behavioral therapy. These have proved effective in bringing about improvement.
There are also alternative therapies for those who don't like using drugs and who prefer not to go through side effects. These include hypnosis, PureCalm, Anxius, Panic Away, The Linden Method or Emotional Freedom Technique.
