Ed Begley Jr, actor and environmentalist, will visit Hanover College to give a lecture on November 13.

Ed Begley Jr. has played many roles in television series and films over the years. He is known for starring in the movies Best of Show, and A Mighty Wind. Ed Begley Jr. has also played roles in television show series including Living With Ed, a reality television show featuring Ed and his wife Rachelle. He has also had reoccurring parts in the television series Six Feet Under, 7th Heaven, and Arrested Development. Ed Begley Jr. has starred as a guest in Star Trek Voyager, Veronica Mars, Boston Legal, and Scrubs.

The reality show, Living With Ed depicts Ed and his wife Rachelle Carson in their everyday lives. Carson often finds living green challenging. The show is now in its second season where Begley and his wife go to their friends' houses and Hollywood homes in order to conduct environmental audits. The reality television show airs on the Home and Garden channel.

Ed Begley Jr. is also an environmentalist. Begley is known for his promotion of eco-friendly products, such as Begley's Best Household Cleaner. He often uses his hybrid electric bicycle or public transportation to travel. Additionally, Begley uses solar power alone in his home.

Begley is involved with a number of environmentally friendly organizations and he has received several awards for his efforts to preserve the environment. Begley has served as the chairman of the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy and the Environmental Media Association. He continues to serve on these boards. He also serves in other organizations including Tree People and Friends of the Earth, the Thoreau Institute, and the Earth Communications Office.

Additionally, Begley has received several awards from environmental organizations including the Santa Monica Baykeeper, the California League of Conservation Voters, the Coalition for Clean Air, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Heal the Bay.

It's great to see the word getting out on how to be better environmental stewards. One of the things affecting global warming, though still in early research, is the impact of plastics in the ocean. The ocean produces more oxygen than any other resource on the planet.
