For those of us that love breakfast cereals, there has always seemed to be a line dividing the "good" kinds and the "bad" kinds.

There are the obviously sweetened cereals; take Froot Loops for example, that are a sweet treat but are overly loaded with sugar and artificial ingredients. Then there are the seemingly better cereals, such as Honey Bunches of Oats and Cheerios. And lastly, there are the "health-freak" cereals, the ones you glance at with hope after seeing words such as organic, protein, or fiber. But then your next assumption is likely that they probably taste like dirt and sticks. Plus, don't fiber-rich cereals always have the consistency of rocks? Isn't there a better way?

Kashi has come up with a tasteful solution. Their products have wonderful health benefits and are packed with nutrients but taste great at the same time. I am a diehard fan of Fruity Pebbles and Cap'n Crunch, but after picking up a couple boxes of GoLean Crunch and Heart to Heart cereals, I have not been tempted to buy any of the usual General Mills or Post fare.

GoLean Crunch has the perfect sweetness and crunch, plus a healthy 16 gram serving of whole grains, 8 grams of fiber and 9 grams of protein. How many cereals do you see that actually include a meaningful dose of protein? Sometimes I just dig in and eat this cereal as a dry snack. I feel even better eating it because of the ingredients, of course all whole grains.

The ingredients are as follows:

Kashi Seven Whole Grains and Sesame® cereal (whole: oats, long grain brown rice, rye, hard red winter wheat, triticale, buckwheat, barley, sesame seeds), textured soy protein concentrate, evaporated cane juice, brown rice syrup, chicory root fiber, whole grain oats, Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame flour (whole: oats, long grain brown rice, rye, hard red winter wheat, triticale, buckwheat, barley, sesame seeds), expeller pressed canola oil, honey, salt, cinnamon, mixed tocopherols (natural vitamin E) for freshness.
