Countless women struggle with excess facial hair on a regular basis, especially women with dark hair. Excess hair can grow above the lip, on the chin, and even on the cheeks in extreme cases. Laser treatments to permanently get rid of unwanted hair are very expensive, and over-the-counter chemical methods are often quite painful and can be very irritating to sensitive skin.

The following provides natural ways to reduce unwanted facial hair. Give these natural ways a try before resorting to more drastic measures. In time you may see a significant reduction in facial hair. You have nothing to lose but unwanted hair and the pain and irritation of chemical treatments.

Precautionary Statement

Due to heat and the risk of burns, use extreme caution when applying the following topical products to the skin. Always use common sense, and carefully follow instructions for best results.

Check in advance for a possible allergic reaction by applying a small amount to an inconspicuous area of the skin. Allow it to remain for a few minutes, and look for any evidence of redness, swelling, or discomfort.

Keep in mind that natural products work differently for different people due to a variety of reasons. What may work for one person may not work for someone else. Consult a dermatologist if unsure of the safety of this or any other natural products to remove facial hair. These natural methods are not intended to replace professional dermatological care.

Spearmint Tea

High levels of testosterone can bring on excess facial hair in women, and spearmint tea is said to help lower testosterone levels. To make all-natural spearmint tea, steep 1 heaping teaspoon of dried spearmint in 1 cup of boiling water. Drink one to two cups daily, and if higher testosterone levels are the cause of your excess facial hair, this natural remedy may help reduce facial hair. In the meantime, try the following natural remedies to immediately remove facial hair.

I've tried the sugar wax you can buy in the stores, and it hurt a whole lot. This sounds a lot better:-)

I'm with those who recommend sugar wax. So far, that seems to be the most popular of the methods suggested, although I do like Spearmint Tea.
