2 Fall Leaf Crafts for Kids

Autumn is often known to many people as fall. It was given this nickname due to the leaves that fall to the ground from the trees. During the autumn, the trees begin to save their food and the leaves dry out and turn many different shades of colors. The leaves make their way down to the ground where they become part of the earth.

Many children love to pile up leaves and take jumping leaps into their piles. The catch the leaves as they whirl to the ground. They gather items of the autumn season from the ground. What better way to celebrate the coming of autumn than with autumn art? The special bond that the children make with the season as they create their arts work makes it even more special. Fall crafts using nature items is very simple and easy.

For these wonderful fall crafts for kids, you will need to go out and begin collecting your leaves a few days ahead of time. Choose full, bright leaves fro your fall art projects. Place the leaves between layers of newspaper and press down with a heavy object or books. The newspaper will absorb the moisture from the leaves and the heavy object will flatten the leaves. As soon as your leaves are dry and flat, you will be ready to begin your fall crafts for kids.

Fall Leaf Wreath Craft for Kids

Materials:

Flatten, dry leaves (see above)

Scissors

Ribbon

Paper Plate (not Styrofoam)

Acorn, nuts, nature items, etc (optional)

Directions:

Cut the middle from the plate. You will have an open circle in the middle of the plate.

Use glue to begin covering the remaining of the plate with the dry flattened leaves. Make sure that no white form the plate is left showing. Place some acorns or nature items on top of the leaves and glue down. You may need hot glue for this step. Add fall ribbon to the bottom or top of the wreath. Hang the wreath on your door and enjoy!

Fall Leaf Squirrel Craft for Kids

Materials:

Dry and flattened leaves (see above)

Cut out of a squirrel on brown construction paper

One acorn for each squirrel made

On wiggle eye

Black marker
