Although there are an almost unlimited amount of choices when it comes to what to drive, there have only been a few choices when it comes to family sedans. Although the Toyota Camry has been the best selling sedan for years now, with the Honda Accord following close behind, a new competitor seems ready to take the stage, and with the promise of upstaging, outperforming and outselling the existing champs. That car is the new, redesigned 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, and with a host of new features, plus a new design, it seems that the Malibu may just be up for that task.

Of course, Honda and Toyota are both fielding new "redesigned" vehicles, and although their appearances are starting to become startlingly similar, there are a great amount of differences in style between the different models, and it is incredibly interesting to see how the three major models stack up to each other, and if the new redesigns hold up to their promises.

The 2008 Malibu seems to be garnering the most praise and attention from various media outlets, and seeing the massive amount of advertising that Chevrolet has put out regarding the model, perhaps this is the ideal starting point to compare the different cars. The first thing to notice about the new Malibu is that the car can actually be noticed. Unlike previous Malibu's, which seemed to fade out into the crowd, the 2008 actually has some interesting style changes, at least enough to let a person know that they are looking at a Malibu without having to check the name plate on the back of the car.

Indeed, there are several things that make the new design so much different. The new front end and the implantation of a new grill design is perhaps the most radical change to happen to the Malibu in years. While there is nothing truly shocking or inspiring about the front end of the new Malibu, it does look attractive, and it now matches style with every other new Chevrolet on the market. However, some may find the front end just a little too similar to a Cobalt to say that it displays real design or prestige.
