Why Does the Song Gardenia Bring Tears to Mandy Moore's Eyes?

Mandy Moore's latest album Wild Hope is full of beautiful songs and individuality. While she has co-wrote all of the songs on the album, we get to see a new and different side of Mandy which hopefully will make her music career soar even more.

Just finishing up her Wild Hope tour to promote her new album, Mandy toured places such as Dayton, Seattle, The House of Blues in Cleveland, and other major cities, fans from all over got to get a taste of her new "grown up" style. Leaving her "candy" days behind, Mandy has developed into more of an adult songstress, and her tunes are full of heart with plenty of emotional music behind them.

While surfing some videos on YouTube that were taken from her live concerts, I noticed one familiar trend in almost all of the performances. When Mandy would perform her beautiful and touching song, "Gardenia," towards the end, she would shed a tear almost every time. Some moments were harder for her, as the lights would go dim as she would walk from the mic for a few moments. I even saw her touch up her eyes a bit with a cloth too. Obviously, this album, and this particular song must be something much more personal for Mandy.

The way she acts emotionally is touching, and we can all relate to Mandy as she reveals her true feelings in her performances. Although Mandy is known for her talented acting skills and has played some major roles in movies, this is definitely no act. Being the big fan of Mandy that I am, I wish I could just reach out and give her a hug. Although, there is a mystery there-Why does Mandy cry every time she performs her sweet song, "Gardenia?"

Gardenia is close to Mandy's heart as all of her fan's see as she struggles to sing through the song. Perhaps this will make her stronger and help her through whatever she must be facing or had faced in the past. Perhaps Gardenia represents a broken past relationship that meant a lot to her.
