A regular bar of soap or a dab of body wash seems to be what most women use when shaving their legs and underarms. I've used ordinary soap ever since I began shaving, but I've recently discovered many more products and natural substances that can be used instead of soap when shaving my legs and underarms. These alternatives to soap are cheaper and less drying than shaving cream, and they are readily available in most homes. Soap alternatives also leave the skin soft and incredibly smooth, and after trying these great alternatives, you may never go back to using ordinary soap again!

Hair Conditioner

Hair conditioner that does a great job of making the hair silky smooth and manageable also makes the skin soft and smooth, and it's fantastic for shaving. Spread a thin layer of your favorite hair condition on legs and underarms, and shave as usual. Your legs and underarms will be much softer, and more than likely you won't need to use body lotion after bathing and shaving. Best of all, it isn't necessary to use expensive conditioner for shaving. Bargain brands work just as well as expensive brands, and a 16-ounce bottle will last for weeks.

Body Lotion

If you suffer from dry skin, kill two birds with one stone and shave your legs and underarms with your favorite body lotion. It's far better than soap and much less drying to the skin. Cheap body lotion works just as well as more expensive varieties, and you'll find dozens of scents and types to choose from. I prefer to shave with my favorite vanilla scented body lotion. This is one of the best alternatives to soap since it provides a closer shave, and my legs are never scaly, irritated, itchy, or dry.

Baby Lotion

Who doesn't love the soft scent of baby lotion? You don't have to be a baby to benefit from the gentle moisturizers and the unmistakable soft scent. Baby lotion is fantastic for shaving the legs and underarms, and it's one of the greatest alternatives to soap. If you have sensitive skin, baby lotion is an excellent choice, and it also produces a very close shave and amazingly baby-soft skin.

Very good alternatives! I've use lotion myself since my skin gets so dry, but never thought about these other options.
