Kid Rock Scores First No. 1 on Billboard Top 200 Albums; Splits with Manager

The veterans of music are battling for the No. 1 spot this week on Billboard's Top 200 Albums. Just last week, Bruce Springsteen's Magic debuted at No. 1 with 337,000 copies sold. This week, however, Kid Rock pushed Springsteen down to No. 2 coming in with 172,000 copies.

Rock'n'Roll Jesus is the first of his records to debut at No. 1.

Kid Rock also takes No. 1 on Billboard's Comprehensive Albums and Top Rock Albums while Springsteen takes No. 1 in Top Internet and Digital Albums. Rascal Flatts come in at No. 3 as LeAnn Rime's makes her 12th charting debut at No. 4 for her new release Family. Matchbox Twenty's Exile on Mainstream sits at No. 5 while Reba McEntire moves up to No. 7 from No. 8 where country peer Sara Evans' Greatest Hits debuts.

Kid Rock has also split with his manager after topping the albums chart for the first time. Ed Andrews, also known as Punch, has resigned after working seven years with Kid Rock, both Michigan natives. Andrews has set to retire, and if he is to split with Bob Seger as well is yet to be seen.

So what does the rock'n'roll Jesus have planned now? Rock has hired Vector Management as his firm, who also manages Lynyrd Skynyrd. Later this month, Rock will release his second single from the new record. The song is titled "Amen," in which Rock explores his inner gospel rock. His current single "So Hott" has so far peaked at No. 2 on U.S. Mainstream Rock and No. 13 on U.S. Modern Rock.

Kid Rock is completing a theater tour across America to promote Rock'n'Roll Jesus, in which four of the ten dates remaining have been sold out, including Chicago's show, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. Other projects up and coming include a collaboration confirmed by rapper Reverend Run titled Running With the Kid, similar to B.B. King and Eric Clapton's Riding With the King. Kid Rock will also appear on Lil' John's upcoming record Crunk Rock, along side R. Kelly, Three Six Mafia, and Diddy's appearances.

Kid Rock also told Blender Magazine he enjoys antique shopping and collecting brass lamps with eagles. That should keep him busy for a while.

Yeah he is kind of cocky.

I recently read an interview with Kid Rock in a men's magazine (not Maxim, but I can't remember which one) and he came off as being somewhat arrogant, and avoided answering any questions directly. He also answered in a very immature manner when asked about his break up with Pam Anderson. I've always liked Kid Rock, so it really wasn't what I expected.
