Permanent Makeup: Is it the Right Choice for You?
Makeup can be expressed in many ways when applied. Some seek to create a bold dramatic effect, while others opt for a more subtle, natural appearance. Despite the various outcomes one can achieve with makeup, what does remain the same is that makeup does not last forever. Many cosmetic companies make promises of long lasting makeup. However, the long lasting makeup may only last for up to eight hours and eventually wear off. Is there a solution?
Permanent Makeup
If you are interested in having makeup that always looks fresh, will not rub off and can camouflage a flaw, permanent makeup may be the solution for you. Permanent makeup is not actually cream based makeup applied to the skin permanently. That would not be possible. So what exactly is permanent makeup? Permanent makeup is referred to as micro-pigmentation. Unlike typical tattooing where inks are put into the deeper layers of the skin. Micro-pigmentation is done by putting natural pigments into the top layer of the skin.
Micro-pigmentation can be applied to the eyes, eyebrows and lips. When applying micro-pigmentation to the eye area, it can placed as eyeliner either above or below the eyes. It can also be used to fill in sparse eyebrows. When applying micro-pigmentation to the lip area it could be placed as lipstick or lip liner.
Finding a Technician
Finding a qualified technician can be a daunting task. This is especially the case since the procedure is permanent and if you are not completely satisfied with the results, you can't simply rub it off. Therefore, it is very important to be particular when choosing a technician. It's imperative that you ask important questions. Questions like, where did you get your training? How long was your training? Do you have references? Can I see a portfolio of actual work performed? How often do you attend classes to stay up-to-date with the procedure? These questions will give you a glimpse of the technicians qualifications.
