Hearty Meat Sauce

Ingredients

1 Lbs Ground Beef

1 Lbs Italian Sausage, sliced into small pieces

1 Large Onion, finely chopped

1 Bell Pepper, core and seeds removed, finely chopped

5 16 Oz Cans of Tomato Sauce

Garlic Powder

Oregano

Red Pepper Flakes

Cayenne Pepper

½ Cup Red Wine

2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Procedure

Sauté onion and bell pepper in olive oil in a large skillet.

Add ground beef and Italian sausage; cook until brown.

Drain Fat.

Transfer cooked ingredients to large pot.

Add tomato sauce and red wine.

Add garlic powder, oregano, red pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste.

Stir, then simmer for 2 to 4 hours, stirring again occasionally.

Serve on top of favorite pasta and top with grated parmesan cheese.

When using frozen sauce, add an eight ounce can of tomato sauce and a dash or two of spices to freshen it up.
