Did you know that you had an address book in Windows XP? Windows XP has a built in Address Book. It is located in the start menu. In this guide I will show you how to use your Windows XP Address Book. Open your Address Book by clicking Start > Accessories > Address Book.

How to Add a New Contact to your Address Book in Windows XP

There are a couple of ways that you can add a new contact to your address book. First, you can click File > New Contact. That will bring the new contact window up and you type in the information for that contact. Second, you can click the New icon and when the menu drops down click Contact. The contact window will open and you can type in your information for that contact. Click OK to add the new contact. If you are a person who likes to use keyboard shortcuts, the shortcut for adding a new contact is CTRL N.

How to Edit a Contact in your Address Book in Windows XP

To edit a contact, double click on the contact's name. When the window opens, click on the different tabs to edit what you need. Click OK to close the box and apply the changes.

How to Delete a Contact in your Address Book in Windows XP

You can delete a contact simply by clicking on the contacts name and clicking the delete button on your keyboard. To delete more than one contact at a time, click one contact, then hold CTRL down and select each contact. Then click Delete to delete the contacts.

How to Change the View of your Address Book in Windows XP

You can change the view by changing how your contacts are displayed. You can display your contacts with large icons, small icons, list, and details. To select the view that you want, go to the top of your address book and click View > and the view that you want.

To change the toolbars and windows that are displayed in your address book, go to the top of your window and click View > and what you want in your address book. You can add the toolbar to your address book or take it away. You can do the same with folders and status bar.
