Are you seeking a great Chicago restaurant for a first date? If so, consider having your first date at one of these Chicago restaurants: Le Colonial, Pops for Champagne, or Wildfire. Each suggested restaurant is distinctly different, but appropriate for a first date. These three restaurants are prime Chicago first date choices based upon their multi-atmosphere design, splurge worthy menus, upscale but welcoming environments, and broad appeal.

Le Colonial
937 North Rush Street
Chicago, Illinois

There is something strangely romantic about ceiling fans, shutters, and palm trees. And that is exactly what you will find at this French Colonial Asian inspired restaurant. It is exotic without trying too hard. Interesting, but still beautiful. A first date at Le Colonial should be memorable, yet refined.

The restaurant is compact so the noise level can be loud. But if you and your date are not feeling the main dining area, Le Colonial does have a more intimate upstairs lounge where you can dine as well. Or if the first date is going great, continue it after dinner upstairs with a few drinks.

While the atmosphere at Le Colonial has broad appeal, its Vietnamese cuisine may be intimidating to your date if she or he is more of a burger and shake type. Not to worry though, the food is delicious. I recommend ordering the red snapper (Ca Chein Saigon). Expect to spend $20-$50 per entree.

Le Colonial is open for either a lunch or dinner date. They serve lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm every day. Their dinner hours: Monday thru Wednesday - 5pm to 11pm; Thursday thru Saturday - 5pm to 12am; Sunday - 5pm to 10pm.

Their dress code is business casual.

Parking can be difficult at Le Colonial so plan to spend $10 for valet service.

You will need to make reservations at this restaurant one to two weeks in advance of your date. Call 312.255.0088 for reservations.

Pops for Champagne
601 North State Street at Ohio
Chicago, Illinois

Chicago bars, such as Pops for Champagne, which serve small-plates offer middle ground for the commitment phobic dater. Not to mention, the night scene can be especially enjoyable for you and your date.
