Taking care of long hair can be a lot of work. I have had long hair for as long as I can remember. I never use a blow dryer and I rarely use a curling iron. I never have any split ends and my hair doesn't break very easily. Using a curling iron and a blow dryer on your hair will cause it to become brittle and it will probably break more easily than it normally would. If you want to keep long hair you need to make the hair thick and strong. You will need to take good care of your hair or it will break off.

The longer your hair gets, the more brittle it will get. You will want to purchase some type of deep conditioning treatment for your hair at least once per week. This will leave your hair moisturized and there will be less of a chance that you hair will break off. You will want to leave the conditioner in your hair for the time recommended. You can also purchase leave in conditioner that you can leave in your hair all night long. You will want to do something to keep your hair moisturized, especially if you use blow dryers and curling irons.

You will want to avoid split ends as well. You will never want to brush your hair when your hair is wet. You won't want to wrap the towel around your head, you want to simply drape the towel over your head or under your hair. Twisting the hair around in the towel will actually break hair off and cause damage to your hair. You will then get split ends and the hair will become very brittle.

The key to having long hair is keeping up on your hair. You will want to use regular conditioners as well as moisturizers and leave in conditioners. You can also purchase oil treatments to place on the ends of your hair to keep them from breaking, getting brittle or splitting. You will want to use deep conditioning treatments and leave the conditioner in your hair for at least a couple of minutes in the bath tub. Avoid using rubber bands all together. They will get tangled up in your hair and cause the hair to break and split. You will want to use some type of hair clip to hold up your hair.
