Sponsor a Writer for the National Novel Writing Month (NANO WRIMO) and Be Entered in a Contest

As you all may know by now, there is an organization that gathers writers from around the world for one month to encourage writers to write a novel within one month. Can this be done? From what I am hearing on the web, there are lots of writers who do it every year but this isn't what this article is about.

I have taken another challenge to go along with writing my novel in one month, the challenge is to get people to sponsor me in writing. The money doesn't go to me, it goes to NANO WRIMO to help fund their programs that they have for children to help them to grow their love for writing. Every year in the month of November, writers take on the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel and join in helping them to raise money to fund these type of programs. I decieded to have people to sponsor me in writing this novel by donating in my name for NANO WRIMO.

The goal that I sat for myself is $1,000 and I have until November 30th to come up with this amount. I did this challenge because I want to help out the organization in funding developmental writing skills in children.

To make things interesting, I will be awarding $50 on January 1st to a random winner. The prize will be rewarded as follows:

Each person that donates five dollars will have one entry into this contest. If you donate ten dollars, that will give you two entries and so forth. The names will then be drawn by a friend of mine. The winner will be notified as soon on January 1st. The reason for it being in January is so that we can get passed some of the holidays that are taking place. I must be sponsored $500 before this contest will take place. You will be able to see the amount that is needed by looking at my blog at Writing for Us.
