Phone-y Baloney - a Poetic Drone on the Cellular Phone

14

"Who is calling?" I am asking.
Hold the phone! I'm multi-tasking.
Munching lunch and punching keys,
Driving fifty, with my knees,
We converse, but in a hurry;
Life zips by, a whirly flurry.

Swerving swiftly through the store,
"Honey, buy three items more."
Grab the milk and bread; let's run.
Don't we have the time for fun?
Racing home, to stock the shelves,
Will we ever quiet ourselves?

"Who is calling?" I am asking.
Hold the phone! I'm multi-tasking.
Munching lunch and punching keys,
Driving fifty, with my knees,
We converse, but in a hurry;
Life zips by, a whirly flurry.

I stop for lunch to meet a friend;
Sitting down, at my wit's end.
Deep in dialogue, we find
Ringing phones; I'll lose my mind!
Can't we carve out just one hour?
Maybe I'll shut off the power!

"Who is calling?" I am asking.
Hold the phone! I'm multi-tasking.
Munching lunch and punching keys,
Driving fifty, with my knees,
We converse, but in a hurry;
Life zips by, a whirly flurry.

At the movies with my mate,
Trying hard to concentrate,
Both our phones on silent, pulse,
Start to vibrate and convulse.
If he answers his, I'll vouch:
He'll be comfy on the couch!
