Falling into Fall
Yes, it Really is that Time of Year...Again
We all have our opinions on which season we like the best. Don't believe me? Just say the magic words "Wow, can you believe it's fall again already?" as you are walking around a shop and see what others say. People can't help but give you their opinion. Ok so it's mostly women.
I have spent the last 7 fall seasons in different states and I've seen the drastic differences. In southern and middle Georgia it's as if there were no fall season at all. One week in November it's warm with summer breezes, the next week there's rain nearly every day, the following week it's winter temperatures that continue through until March. South Carolina and Tennessee are similar during this season. Both have beautiful foliage but not so many color changes anymore. Most everything stays somewhat green until it finally gets tired of waiting for the beautiful color changes and falls to the ground in dismay to await winter. They both get windy but SC seemed to get much more rain than the places we've lived in middle and east TN.
The further north you go though, the more beautiful it gets. Picturesque scenes all through the northern part of Pennsylvania made me want to build a log cabin in the woods and never go home. Until I got out of the car, that is, and the cold wind blew with temperatures in the 30's already. No sir-ee, this girl freezes her bottom off sometimes year round. Though, I could literally spend hours just driving the old "CCC roads"* looking at the trees (with the heat on). It's absolutely gorgeous.
