"As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others." - Bill Gates

Bill Gates has created numerous scholarship programs. His generosity has enabled thousands of students to obtain a college degree. His legacy will include empowering others to achieve their dreams. His scholarship program is unique in its largesse.

It is fascinating to think of the way the world will change due to the achievements of the winners of scholarships provided by Bill Gates. With his own career Bill Gates has changed the world via developing technology. With his scholarship program he is changing the future in ways we probably cannot even imagine.

Gates Millennium Scholarship Program

Bill and Melinda Gates donated a 1 billion dollar grant to create the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program (www.GMSP.org). This program works to promote academic excellence, achieve diversity in education and careers, and to reduce financial barriers to education. : Students who have at least a 3.3 GPA (out of 4) and are African American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan, and Asian Pacific Islander may apply for the scholarships. This foundation has given out over 10,000 college scholarships. The program pays for undergraduate studies in college and also graduate and doctoral programs. Students may pick any major for undergraduate studies; graduate studies may be undertaken in education, library science, math, public health, engineering, and science.

The application will evaluate academic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Applicants are required to obtain nominations from a principal, counselor, or teacher. The yearly deadline for scholarship applications is: December 31, or January 11th for the on-line application. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and fill out the Pell Grant application and the FAFSA financial aid forms.

Since Bill and Melinda Gates began the scholarship program in 1999, more than 10,000 scholarships have been awarded. Bill Gates is the founder of Microsoft.

Everyone but Caucasians get the hookup. Not all whites are rich and can afford school. Its sad to see that minorities get looked after and Caucasians get left in the dust, by other Caucasians no less. The world has been shaped and molded, the norm is that it is okay to turn your back on members of your own race and turn a blind eye to people of your own ethnic origin. The world is about helping everyone but white people these days. Since all whites are apparently rich and well off, they can all afford to send their kids to school. We've helped out these bastards enough its time to apply some of this money and power to the Caucasian race instead of squander it all away on minorities. Give Caucasians a fair chance too and don't seclude them from applying based on race. Just because a guy is black doesn't mean he cant be a racist. By promoting only ethnic sponsored grants and scholarships is about as racist as calling a black guy a FUCKING NIGGER PIECE OF SHIT!!!

It should not be about race-

Dangit. I should have looked into these. I still had a lot of scholarship money, but it would have been nice. This is good info for people who are looking! :-) Bill Gates seems to be doing a good job with his image right now.
