FBI Investigating David Copperfield's Warehouse in Las Vegas

As being reported in several news outlets including, USA TODAY, the FBI is investigating David Copperfield's International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts, which houses the world's premiere collection of historical documentation and artifacts relating to magic and illusion and related arts. Although it has not been disclosed why, the FBI and Copperfield's attorney have confirmed the story.

David Copperfield has been regarded as the greatest illusionist of our time. He began performing at the age of 12, and became the youngest person to be admitted to the Society of American Magicians. At 16, he was teaching magic at New York University.

When asked what he thought his greatest work is, he points to " Project Magic" which he established in March of 1982. The purpose of the program is to strengthen the dexterity and motor skills in disabled patients, using sleight of hand magic as method therapy. Along with helping with motor skills, it motivates the patients and builds self esteem. It is currently being implemented in 1100 hospitals , in 30 countries worldwide.

Along with performing over 550 shows a year, he has a passion for preserving the art of magic for future generations.

He had joined with well known author's such as Dean Koontz, Joyce Carol Oates, and Ray Bradbury for " David Copperfield's, Tale of the Impossible", an original fiction set in the world of magic and illusion. It was so popular that a second volume was published " David Copperfield's Beyond Imagination."

Some illusions that David Copperfield is well known for include:

1) Vanishing an airplane while being surrounded by a group of people

2) He made the Statue of Liberty vanish before a live audience in New York which was televised to over 50 million

3 He levitated himself across the Grand Canyon

4 Became the first person to escape from Alcatraz

5) Escaped from an imploding building

6) Survived a plunge over Niagara Falls

The average time it takes him to create new illusion from conception to performance is 21/2 years

He has performed for US Presidents 7 times.
