Today's Quote: "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." ~ Mark Twain

I would like to start off by apologizing for the slight twist toward negativity.

Every day I (and probably most everyone else) encounter lots of people who seem to believe that the world owes them. Maybe not a living, necessarily, but something. Or everything.

I try very hard not to be one of those people, at least not often. But I also realize that the people I see who behave this way probably don't consider themselves "one of those people" either.

Today's thought is to remember that you are not entitled - to anything. Life is what we make of it. Nothing is guaranteed - not even that we will take another breath or see another sunrise. Nothing is owed to us.

By living and breathing, what are we giving to the world? How can we be owed anything if we give nothing? Give what you can, earn what you get, and appreciate all that you receive.

oops. I meant to say "expects to gain something from everything". My fingers didn't keep up with my thoughts I guess. :-)

Excellent and so true! I wouldn't call myself one of those who expects to gain something, but like you said, who would? Important reminder that everyone can use. :-)
