Throughout the world, industries such as fossil fuel companies electrical producers, and manufactures that emit chemicals such as carbon dioxide to the atmosphere are suspected as major contributors to the green house gases that are suspected to be effecting the ozone. This in turn messes up the climate. With the world becoming more aware of the affects, these gases possibly have on the world, it companies or manufacturers are looking at new features as energy producers are now being targeted by the government, and organizations in favor of reducing green house gases (GHG). As world leaders hold workshops and meetings about reducing the GHG, these companies are targeted and enforced to reduce GHG, one main gas carbon dioxide.
In an article published by Risk Management Magazine (Risk Management Magazine, 2007, Vol. 54 Issue 8, p42-48, p6, Chris Stubbs and Doug Lockwood), write that "Climate change poses potentially significant risks for businesses, including reduced availability of resources, and tough regulatory requirements". Some of these requirements will or do require fines and litigations.
The article carbon dioxide - Emissions Trading states, that efforts to reduce the damage big businesses causes to the environment center around carbon dioxide emissions trading, with the idea that market forces will encourage businesses to clean up their act and so help rein in global warming. - (Gale Power Search, carbon dioxide - Emissions Trading, Marketing Week (May 31, 2007): p25. General OneFile). What areas are there flaws in the program though?
