The Last Cylon: Who is the Fifth of the Final Five in "Battlestar Galactica"

After the revelation of four of the "Final Five" in Battlestar Galactica's third season finale, two major questions were asked: "Who is the Fifth?" and "Are they actually Cylons!?"

After re-imagined series developer Ronald D. Moore assured fans in interviews that Chief Galen Tyrol (Aaron Douglas), Colonel Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan), Samuel Anders (Michael Trucco) and Tory Foster
(Rekha Sharma) were members of the Final Five, the next logical set of question sprang to being.

Just who is the last Cylon? Have we already seen them?

To lay down the ground work for the article, there are several pieces of information that need to be made available to you. These key pieces of information are based on comments from both Ron Moore and several key actors on the series. However, it would be remiss of me to not mention that these comments could also be slightly deceiving -- particularly in light of the elaborate deception concocted by Moore, his partner-in-crime David Eick, and actress Katee Sackhoff to trump up Kara Thrace's death in "Maelstrom" as her final appearance in the series.

Having offered that disclaimer, I'll now state what has been revealed so far. In addition to being "fundamentally different" than the "Significant Seven" introduced previously, they have been Cylons from the beginning. Therefore, they are not clones, replacements, or any other doppelgänger cliché that has been seen before in science fiction.

In addition, Moore claims in the Frak Party podcast for "Crossroads, Part II" that he already knows who the last Cylon is, and that he's left clues for who it may be. An additional comment from Bradley Thompson also reveals that the they have known who the "Final Cylon" is since the end of season one, therefore the character cannot truly be anyone who hasn't been around since season one. (For the record, Thompson also noted that the rest of the Five were decided upon in the third season, a claim further supported by Moore.)

I wish to add and change to my statment below due to reading more of the others. It cannot be Helo as some stated. How on earth do 2 cylons have a half-breed child? Dosen't quite work. Also, I beleive it is Baltar. The way De'anna looks at Balter throughout the series as to say, I know who you really are. And who even said there are only 12? Why not the 11 we know. Why not 13 or 50. Just because the cylons beleive there are only 12, don't make it so. Though it all depends on Moore. Also, 'Appolo from below' does Razor count towards an episode in the 4th? I beleive not. Due to it being a film not an episode. If so, my question still stands. What is the 11th episode? Someone let me know please. And whats with all the flashbacks? When did this all happen. Seen all 4 series about 5 times now and I have never felt so confused as to what this forum makes me. When did Dee shoot herself? What makes Ellen a suspect. Admiral Adama had images of his wife like Tigh. Rosalin could see the past a

A named person above or below named Apollo stated Ellen Tigh because it is revealed in the 11th episode of series 4. What is the 11th episode. Only 10 in the box set. Im confused. Also, my opinion is Admiral Cain. Though I would love to find out the actual fifth. Maybe the next series or prelude series will tell who he/she is.

Major Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen) is the last of then final five Cylon. Remember that the last Cylon is not in the fleet anymore. Why would they have a 2 hour tv-movie episode,"Razor". Why would they have the main character, Major Kendra Shaw, just end in that episode. The "old dying man" hybrid clearly signified her important role in the finale. De'Anna clearly stated that she "only needed the final four cylons," and the fifth and once again, the final cylon is not in the fleet. Major Kendra Shaw ressurrection has taken place and kept secret. She will be the final five and the secret weapon, "Razor."

I think Ellen is an old model 6, that is why Tigh is drawn to her. When they were on Earth, all of the final 5 Cylons that we know of had a moment where they flashed back to when they were on Earth before when it was destroyed. Dee also had a flashback, the moment with the jacks. Then, back on the ship, she went on a date with Apollo, made a comment aboout it being good to feel alive and then shot herself. I think she shot herself because she knew she was cylon.

Cant be Lee adama. How would Bill Adama not know his own son? The other cylons dont have parents in the show... so we have no idea of knowing how they were planted or whether they even grew up with family. To be honest. I think the final five have already been to earth. They are responsible for it's destruction and they deactivated themselves in remorse for the horrible act. But the fifth must have reactivated them and of course the fifth could not meet them in the same room when the music played because the fifth was not on the ship at the time. It may possibly be Romo Lampkin. Why introduce such a brilliant and powerful influence at a pivotal point in the series and let him just walk away? Why pit father against son and save Baltar to spite the colonies? Romo's part in all of this has to be much larger than that little two episode run. Romo wanted to stay out of the limelight until the right time. He is probably the leader of the final five, probably the one to have give

I agree with the Ellen idea. Also, in the popular Entertainment Weekly spread, Ron Moore has stated that the Number 10 spot (next to Tigh and in front of a cup) is for the Fifth Cylon. Next to Tigh and in front of a cup. What did Tigh give Ellen to drink from? Besides, we never really knew if she was dead or not. I'm thinking Tigh probably left her there once the fighting started along with the planet's evacuation.
