At www.myspace.com/theblackhodag you can find out that the film is an old school gore flick about six friends who take a road trip to a back country town, where a local legend has been feeding off the population for decades. They find themselves the newest items on the menu as they are hunted by bogeyman-type creature known as "The Black Hodag."
A big thank you goes out to Donn Kennedy for doing the following interview and to all that worked with him on the film for striving to make something entertaining for us horror fans. Hopefully when the movie is available for viewing most of us will get a chance to check it out.
The film was known as 'The Black Hodag', is it officially staying at 'Backwoods Bloodbath' now?
'Yes. The official Title is 'Backwoods Bloodbath: Curse of the Black Hodag'. We changed it to keep the creature more mysterious- Nightmare on Elm street isn't called 'Freddy' and Texas Chainsaw Massacre isn't called 'Thomas 'Leatherface' Hewitt'. Etc.'
I heard in another interview something about boobs and blood, what can we expect from Backwoods Bloodbath?
'There are a lot of direct-to-video horror films that can't decide if they're rated R or PG-13. I watched this one big foot film (won't mention the name) and once it was over I couldn't figure out what the hell I just watched. It wasn't scary, or funny, or gory, or really anything. In our film we know exactly where we're trying to take the audience, and that place is back to old school horror. What can you expect? Think American Pie in the woods where the pie eats the kids.'
