What is Club Penguin and is it Worth Your Money?

www.clubpenguin.com is probably a site you haven't heard about yet. Memberships are purchased for either $5.95 a month, $29.95 for 6 months, or $57.95 for a year. That one is the best deal! Why become a member? You can sign up for free, but if you're a member, your penguin can dress up, you can decorate your igloo, and your penguin can go to specific parties and places that other non-paying penguins can't go! It's worth the money. You may cancel your membership at anytime but you do not get a refund.

Logging In

Once you sign up, you can choose your penguin's color, gender, and name. When you are ready, you can click "Play Now" and start your adventure. Once signed in, you can pick your server. Some servers are chat free which means your child can only use pre-made chat systems. Others are non-chat free and your child can type whatever they please and their penguin will say it. If another penguin says something bad, you can report them. After logging in to Club Penguin, your penguin should appear in the Club Penguin world.

Playing Games and Moving Around

You can get around by using a map. There are many different rooms in Club Penguin each filled with new things to do. There are fun games hidden all around Club Penguin too. When you play games, you earn coins which you can use to buy clothes and other accessories for your penguin. Every Thursday, Club Penguin comes out with a newspaper to get the latest info on all things happening at Club Penguin.

Igloos and Pets

When you first visit your igloo, it's bare! That's why you need to gather up some coins and buy some furniture which is located in a catalog in your penguin's house. Did you know that penguins have pets? Well your penguin can have one! Head to the pet shop to buy a cute furry puffle pet at the gift shop. Puffles are rare Club Penguin animals living with the penguins. Your puffle will live with your penguin at your penguin's igloo. You even get to name the puffle and take care of it. Puffles come in six different colors each with a different personality.

There's a lot that kids can do on the site free - that's what my girls do. Currently, they're enjoying CP even more than Webkinz. Nice article!
