I was just arrested for the first time last month. The charges are 3 misdemeanors. I am hoping to have some removed but may have something on my otherwise clean record. I plan on going to law school next year or the year after. If eventually I get through law school and get good marks on the bar exam, does that mean I would not qualify to pass the background check?

Just kinda of curious. i have heard that in some states you do not need to go to law school to take the bar exam is this true?? Can you in the state of MO take the bar exam with out a college education??? If anyone has information on this you may cantact me at kj2lb@yahoo.com or kevin@fatherssupportingfathers.com. The reason i ask is that I am not in a position to pay for schooling let alone law school. i have extinsive knowledge of the law and would like to take the bar exam to practice in family law. Any pointers would be helpful.

I need to add a sidebar about the MPRE requirements mentioned in this article. You don't have to take the MPRE before you take the Missouri Bar Exam. However, you do need to take it and submit your scores to the Missouri Board of Law Examiners prior to submitting your application for Bar admittance. This state MPRE scores that were earned three years prior to taking the Missouri Bar Exam, and up to one year after taking the Missouri Bar Exam.
