Our One-Night Cruise on the Norwegian Sun

Taking a cruise for one night is a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed ourselves on the Norwegian Sun.

A ONE-NIGHT CRUISE?

We had booked an 8 day Mexican cruise on the Norwegian Sky which left out of out of Vancouver B.C. Normally, we just drive up and leave our car but this was a repositioning cruise and ended in Los Angeles! We needed a way up to Vancouver and lucked out as the Norwegian Sun was scheduled
on a one day trip from Seattle to Vancouver. The cost was much less than that of driving our car to Seattle and leaving it for the 10 days and catching the train to Vancouver - and a lot more fun!

We packed a separate carry-on bag with the clothes we would wear the next day and kept all the cruise items packed in the larger suitcases. We added our pjs to our personal items and were set! We wore comfortable, but dressy enough, clothes we could wear to dinner and the shows. Some people came dressed in evening wear but most passengers did like we did.

OUR ROOM

Our room was an Outside and had a nice big window. They had pushed the two beds together and there was a full size pullout couch for a third and fourth person, if needed. The bed was OK (no need for an egg crate) and when we asked for extra pillows, they were delivered within a few minutes.

They had a desk area with a chair and a large mirror over it. It is an added place for one to apply makeup and/or do hair while others were getting ready.

There was a small fridge; pre-filled of course. On longer trips we have them empty it but we didn't even open it other than when I checked it out. There was a filled ice chest and four glasses.

The one thing that really struck me was the storage! I have sailed on over 30 cruises and the Sun had more storage space than, I believe, any of them did! And of course, here we were for one night and not able to take advantage of that! They had 2 drawers in the desk, two cabinets with 6 drawers, shelves in the closets and 3 large drawers! There were even baskets on a set of shelves! It would have been great to have that when we were on the Dream for 10 days!!

I've always wanted to go on a cruise. I didn't know they had 1 day cruises! You did a good write-up on this one.

OMG! I was on that ship! I went on the Alaskan cruise...did a video review about it on here too! I never thought of a one day cruise, but the repositioning cruise would be fun. Really long tho!

I can't wait for the kiddos to get a little older so we can cruise again.

This would be a fun adventure to take the grandkids on, even the younger ones. We could all have a wonderful time and the parents could have a day and night to themselves! I am looking into this - great review, you sold me!
