Eight Comic Book Halloween Costumes that Don't Require Spandex

Due to all the movies lately more and more people are looking for comic book Halloween costumes. Of course most of us don't like to dress in spandex or at least shouldn't dress in spandex because we don't have the body for it.
Here are a few comic book Halloween costume ideas that don't include spandex.

Gambit
Gambit has that blue/purple/black outfit underneath his trench coat but don't worry about it too much. As long as you have the trench coat, wavy hair, Cajun accent, bo and throw cards all over the place this should be a fine comic book costume this Halloween.

Hulk
This is a pretty easy comic book costume to make this Halloween. Find yourself a pair of purple pants and tear them up. Paint the rest of yourself green and you're all set.

Joker
For a Joker costume you'll need a suit complete with purple jacket and pants. Paint your face white, dye your hair green and laugh a whole lot and you'll have yourself a great comic book Halloween costume.

Kingpin
For a Kingpin costume will again need a suit. The Kingpin has purple pants like the Joker but has a white jacket. Also be sure you're bald and it never hurts to have a cigar or a huge ring for your minions to kiss.

Professor X
The Professor wears a suit, not any particular color so use whatever you have. This is a great comic book costume for Halloween because you get to sit down half the night in your wheel chair. Of course the other half you'll walk around and if people ask why you aren't crippled then you'll make up some complicated story about the Shi'ar healing you.

Sandman
The Sandman costume in Spiderman 3 was the simplest costume ever in that series so it will make a very easy comic book costume to make for Halloween. Find yourself a pair of brown pants and a shirt that has green and black stripes.

The Spirit
For a costume of the Spirit you're going to need a button up shirt and tie and a blue trench coat over the top. Add a blue hat, a mask around the eyes and you have yourself a good comic book Halloween costume.

You're right, spandex is dull. Everyone knows that spray on laytex is the way to go.

What, no Silver Surfer? BTW: There is a Jekyll/Hyde costume available that is a split personality outfit that could be rather easily customized into a Two-Face. Of course, it runs over $100 so....

Great costume ideas. I guess for Two Face someone will need some serious sewing skills, but I'm sure it can be done!
