I do not have extremely dry skin, but in the beginning stages of the winter my legs for some reason get dry and flaky. I do not need a deep moisturizing lotion to rid myself of the problem, just a quick swipe of some cheap scented lotion and the problem is usually gone for the rest of the day. When I first came across a brand of lotion I had never seen nor heard of I was excited to give it a try. I love sampling lotions and then coming online to share my experiences with how well the lotion worked, how long it worked for, the scent, and the texture of the lotion.
When I saw Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion in a box of freebies I was given I could not wait to whip it out and use some. I knew exactly where I would start too. My legs.
First though let me tell you about the packaging. Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion comes in a very boring looking bottle, and honestly if I were to see it on store shelves I would most likely pass it by thinking it was some cheap smelly lotion that I would want nothing to do with. The bottle itself is a standard stand up bottle that is a cloudy see through white. The pump is an easy to use press down nozzle. I liked the pump most of all though. A lot of lotion these days come with those annoying click up/click down caps that just make a mess of things if you squeeze too hard.
On the bottle is the name of the lotion, the company and the description in blue and purple writing. It looks more like a medicated type bottle than it does an actual bottle of lotion. I guess this is a good thing for those who are looking for something strong.
Scent:
When I first pumped out a pea sized amount of the lotion I had to bring it to my nose to see what Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion smelled like. I was not thrilled with it at all. The smell is hard to describe and the best way for me to do so would be to compare it to an old bar of cheap hotel soap.
It's not really a nasty smell that would make you gag, but it is definitely a scent that many would disagree with. Especially seeing how this is a smell that is going to be on your skin.
