Acne rosacea is a skin disorder that normally occurs over 30 years of age and is also referred as adult acne. Initially, it starts to appear as red rash in the face especially on the cheeks, forehead, chin, nose etc. Later, this redness will develop to pimples or swelling or form marks in the skin. The prominent blood vessels can be noticed in the skin. Unlike acne vulgaris one cannot find black heads in the acne rosacea. If it is left untreated, a condition called rhinophyma will result. Both the acne vulgaris and acne rosacea will have the symptoms that are similar and may be usually confusing. It may necessitate undergoing acne rosacea laser treatment for treating real acne rosacea.
There are different types of acne rosacea, which are erythematotelangiectatic roseacea, papulopustular rosacea, phymatous rosacea, ocular rosacea and neuropathic rosacea. Since the symptoms are not easy to identify, it is better for the one, who is suspicious to consult a dermatologist, who may suggest acne rosacea laser treatment. Before trying the treatment, you may want to experiment with using a sun screen that prevents UVA and UVB, which will help to protect the skin from acne rosacea.
