Would you like to observe birds, wildlife, or cheating husbands from the convenience of your car? If so, Celestron may have the perfect window mount device for you. The Celestron Car Window Mount clamps to your car window and allows you to mount your camera, spotting scope, or other optical device via a quick release pad equipped with the standard 1/4 inch x 20 mounting screw. The 1/4 x 20 mounting screw is an industry standard that screws right into the bottom of most cameras.

The Celestron Car Window Mount is a convenient little device that you can clamp to your car window and mount your camera, spotting scope, or other optical devices to be mounted via a quick release plate and standard 1/4" x 20 mounting screw. The "tripod head" or alt-azimuth mount portion of the window mount is aim-able via a short metal control stalk. The tension in the up and down (altitude) direction is adjustable by twisting the control stalk clockwise or counterclockwise. The tension in the left and right (horizontal) direction is adjustable by tightening or loosening a knob.

The clamp portion of the Celestron Car Window Mount is constructed of sturdy metal. Tightening a knob through the clamp body closes a screw-driven plate until it tightens on your car window. The plate and clamp surfaces are padded with 1/16" rubber padding to effectively protect any window or other mounting surface. Celestron created the mount head from heavy duty plastic and metal components. The entire unit is approximately 8 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches tall. The overall build quality of the Celestron Car Window Mount seems very good relative to the cost of the unit.
