National Food Holidays in January

Celebrate Food All Year Long

When January comes along, you may think that the food holidays have come to an end, but you'd be wrong. January is filled with food holidays. Here are just a few of the great food holidays that take place in January.

Apple Gifting Day January 1: This is such a fun day to celebrate. A fun way to enjoy this national food holiday is to bake an apple pie or crisp for your friend or neighbor. Christmas may be over, but it's never a bad time to give
 gifts.

National Cream Puff Day January 2: If you're tired of baking, never fret. You can always head to your local bakery and pick up some delicious cream puffs.

Chocolate-Filled Cherry Day January 3: I'm not actually sure what chocolate filled cherries are, but you can always enjoy some delicious chocolate covered cherries on this food holiday.

National Spaghetti Day January 4: Who doesn't love spaghetti? On this food holiday, shake things up by making something different. Or at least make homemade sauce, pasta, or both.

National Whipped Cream Day January 5: Whipped cream can be enjoyed in thousands of different ways. On this national food holiday, why not serve it in a delicious chocolate mousse?

Bean Day January 6: This is actually a food holiday you can feel good about. Serve up some pinto beans with cornbread and pork chops.

National Shortbread Day January 6: On this national food holiday, do something fun. Make a shortbread cookie crust and top it with caramel and chocolate to create a Twix pizza.

National Tempura Day January 7: Tempura is a batter that is usually found on Asian foods, such as sweet and sour Chicken. To enjoy this day, head off to your favorite Chinese restaurant.

English Toffee Day January 8: You can always make your own English toffee. But, if you want to celebrate this day is easier way, just buy a Heath Bar.

National Apricot Day January 9: Apricots are tasty and healthy. On this national food holiday, grab some dried apricots and mix them with some nuts and other dried fruit to create a healthy trail mix.

Bittersweet Chocolate Day January 10: Bittersweet chocolate makes delicious brownies. Need I say more?
