Are you tired of having hair all over your house that was left behind by your dog? Many people feel this way, and the simple solution is to choose a dog that sheds very little. You can't get a dog, other than possibly a rare hairless breed, that doesn't shed at all because they don't exist, but there are some good choices available that will limit the hairy mess all over your house.

One such breed is the Boston Terrier. They shed a little bit, but they won't leave large hairy messes like many breeds of dogs. I have grown up with Boston Terriers my whole life, and they really are great dogs. We have had three, and they have all been a wonderful experience. The first Boston Terrier we had was a little big aggressive like a watchdog, but the next two wouldn't bite you if you begged them. They are generally very good with kids and very obedient dogs. If they do something bad, afterwards they seem to feel bad about it in my experience.

Another choice to consider is the Schnauzer. They shed very little hair, but they do require more grooming than the previously mentioned Boston Terrier. These dogs need haircuts to keep then groomed, which can be an added expense you may not want to deal with. Personally, I don't want that hassle, but it doesn't bother many dog owners. Schnauzers are a breed of dog that requires personal attention. They don't like to be left and forgotten somewhere, so, if you don't have much time for a dog, you may want to look for a different breed. This breed is also known for being a great watchdog. Schnauzers are available in miniature, standard, and giant sizes, so you have a wide variety of choices in that aspect.

The Italian Greyhound is another excellent choice for a dog that keeps shedding to a minimum. They are essentially a miniature Greyhound, and have many great qualities. Italian Greyhounds are very affectionate which equates to them being a great companion. They are generally gentle and loving, but they can sometimes have a mischievous side that comes out. Overall, they are a great dog that is well worth your time to check out.
