Peanut Butter, hamburgers, baby food, spinach, romaine lettuce, pet food, contact solution, bread, cribs, car seats, children's toys and even Cub Scout's badges. This list consists of just a few of the products that have been recalled in the past year or so. After the first few recalls it seemed to just spiral downhill from there. After that we saw a plethora of major companies taking their products off the shelves in a hurry for reasons such as E. coli contamination, excessive lead content, and suffocation hazards. Factories have been shut down, and companies have even gone bankrupt from the incidents. All of these recalls lead me to the question: why can we no longer trust the companies that we buy our products from? It's not even a matter of buying generic or discounted products that we may be skeptical about trusting- a majority of the recalls are coming from well known brand name companies as well as organic companies that most people have used and trusted for years.
