Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Some people spend months searching for just the right costume for Halloween...then there are the rest of us. I am a notorious last minute Halloween costume maker, yet I almost always win a prize in the costume contests. Below are 3 last minute costume ideas sure to be a hit at your Halloween festivities.

Last Minute Halloween Costume #1: Old Granny

Old Granny- Old Granny is a fun costume that is even better for men than it is for women. There is nothing like raiding Granny's closet or the salvation army for a flowered house dress, usually referred to in the south as a moo-moo, a pair or support house rolled down to show a bit of leg beneath the dress, a curly wig, and a pair of old glasses. This is a classic that is super funny for men and women alike!

Last Minute Halloween Costume #2: Biker

Biker- Biker is a great last minute unisex costume that can be conjured up with little more than a borrowed leather jacket, tight jeans, dark sunglasses, and a bandana worn around the head as a "do rag".

Last Minute Halloween Costume #3: Prom Queen

Prom Queen- Again this costume can be unisex as an actual beautiful prom queen or as a spoof on prom queens (think a "Carrie" version). You will need a formal gown, this can be purchased at the Salvation Army or a rummage sale for very little money, if you or a friend or relative do not still have one taking up space in the attic or garage. You will also need a crown, this can either be made with poster board, hot glue and a bag of jewels from the local hobby store, or many times crowns can be found in the toy department of dollar stores. Simply add make-up and your last minute Halloween costume is complete.
