With the dawn of the Internet more and more people are giving up the rat race and the commute of the corporate world and working from home. Whether for economical reasons or for family reasons the trend is increasingly leaning towards telecommuting and self-employment.

If you are lucky enough to already be working with a company and able to telecommute it is often the ideal situation. The company does not have to train a new employee merely adjust and modify the job for telecommuting. The key components of course to this scenario are to have a computer, fax/scanner and printer as well as a cell phone or dedicated land line available. One must be disciplined and very organized to make this work. Setting regular hours and keeping to them is very important for both the company and the employee to succeed.
