The Superman Curse

Myths, Legends, and Facts

In last week's episode of the hit CW network's show Smallville called Cure, Dean Cain, who played the Man of Steel in the 1990s television show, Lois & Clark, guest starred as Dr. Curtis Knox, a man who claims to be able to cure people
of being "meteor freaks", a term thrown about on the show during its seven year run to mean normal humans who are infected by Kryptonite meteor rocks and given some powers. This Dr. Knox, played so marvelously by Cain, wants to help these people and one of the show's stars, Allison Mack (who plays Chloe Sullivan, cousin to future Superman love interest Lois Lane, and school days chum of Clark Kent, our future Superman himself (played by Tom Welling), takes an interest. She has the power, it seems from viewing, of saving people's lives but it costs her own life for a time, but the one time she did it, in last season's cliffhanger, she was able to "come back from the dead" in the morgue of the Smallville Medical Center.
