Among my new habits was to only eat fruit and vegetables during lunch but of course this meant having a good breakfast to tide me over until dinner.
After doing some research I discovered that many people agree that eggs are very good for you. Eggs are high in vitamins and minerals and are low in calories. Of course eggs by themselves are not very filling so I got in the habit of making a daily omelet.
After a while it got difficult to make an omelet every morning because I'm not any good at making omelets. I definitely can't make an omelet in a regular pan but even with one of those pans made for specifically with omelets I could never make one correctly.
Then one day I found the cure to all my omelet-making problems. You don't need a fancy omelet maker to make the perfect omelet. All you need is a plastic bag.
Step One - Find some boil resistant plastic bags.
Step Two - Crack open two eggs and put the two eggs in the plastic bag. Shake up the bag in order to mix the eggs together.
Step Three - Add all the ingredients that you want in your omelet to the plastic bag. Some suggestions are cheese, ham, onion and green peppers.
Step Four - Shake up the bag in order to mix the ingredients. Open the bag to get all the air out and zip it up tight.
Step Five - Place the bags in boiling water for 13 minutes.
Step Six - Cut open the plastic bag and dump the omelet onto a plate ready to eat.
Warning: Some people will warn you not to boil plastic bags because they aren't sure of the affects it may have, Ziploc even admits their bags are not necessarily designed for boiling. Many people, especially campers, have practiced this for a while though and as far as I know there isn't any kind of proof that there are any negative affects. You might want to do more research first though if you're concerned.
This recipe is easy not only because it's simple but because you can also put the ingredients in a bag the night before and put them in the refrigerator. Then when you wake up all you have to do is boil water and put the bag in.
