One trip to the state fair and you'll find there are very imaginative people around the world. Look no further than the food. Every year the state fair is coming up with more and more odd foods, usually fried foods. Just about everything from a Snickers bar to Oreos have been fried at the state fair. Here are some of the more unique foods that the state fair is frying..Snickers
The fried Snickers is one of the more famous state fair fried foods. It was when the Snickers were gaining popularity that everybody realized that just about any foods could be fried. Unfortunately the Snickers became such a legendary treat at the state fair that it didn't live up to a lot of the expectations when people tried it for the first time.
Coke
The Fried Coke is a pretty recent addition to the fried foods. Fried Coke consists of making balls of batter with Coke syrup added and then frying the batter. This Coke concoction was introduced at the Texas State Fair in 2006. Now if we could just get a vending machine with Fried Snickers and Coke.
Oreos
I'm willing to put up with the Coke and Snickers but sometimes an invention is so perfect that it should never be messed with. Oreos is one of those creations. Nobody should ever change Oreos (with the double stuff Oreos being the exception). Cookies with cream in the middle and that's it. No peanut butter, no caramel, and definitely no frying for Oreos.
Swiss Cheese
What? Fried Swiss Cheese? This is absurd! Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with frying cheese, but you have to put it on something. Just ordering cheese, fried or not, is dumb. Would you ever go to a state fair and order a piece of Swiss Cheese? Of course not, so you shouldn't order fried Swiss Cheese either. It should only be put on something and preferably not Oreos.
Twinkie
Like the Snickers the Fried Twinkie was one of the first foods being fried at state fair that was catching everyone's attention. I've never had one of these tasty treats at state fair but I just can't imagine batter on Twinkie would taste very good.
