With the Release of Saw IV, the Villain Jigsaw Could Be the Next Big Horror Franchise Icon

The thing that makes those horror franchises such a success is the main villain, so how does the Saw villain, Jigsaw, match up to the other ones?
Appearance
Michael Myers (Halloween): Silent killer in a jumpsuit and plain white mask showing no emotion.
Jason (Friday the 13th): Tattered clothes, upgraded from potato sack mask to his trademark hockey mask by the third film.
Freddy Krueger (Nightmare On Elm Street): Burned and scarred face, green and red sweater, and a glove with four blades attached to the fingers, also known as "Freddy's Glove".
Jigsaw (Saw): Jigsaw is in two forms, either a creepy old man in a hood or a creepy tricycle riding doll with a deep voice.
Method of Killing
Michael Myers: Choking, stabbing, grabbing any object he can get his hands on, preferably a knife.
Jason: His weapon is the machete but has been known to use other objects including stones.
Freddy Krueger: Haunts dreams. Various methods in the dream world, particularly likes using his "Freddy Glove" to slice up victims.
Jigsaw: Complicated, detailed-filled death puzzles that will torture victims until they meet their demise, very few people escape.
Most Memorable Kill
Michael Myers: In the first Halloween, Michael kills his victims in a memorable car scene.
Jason: A flaming machete through the chest of an unexpected victim at a cornfield party in Freddy vs. Jason.
Freddy Krueger: In Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Freddy possessed a television and shoved a teenagers head right through the screen.
Jigsaw: The Saw II opening scene was an intense and memorable death trap known as the Jaws of Life where the only way for the victim to escape was by digging a key out of his eye before time was up.
