I love shopping at Kohl's retail store. Their regular prices aren't always the lowest, but the sales are fantastic, and the merchandise is unique and usually higher in quality than discount stores. I also appreciate the shopping carts and strollers provided by Kohl's. Unlike other department stores, shoppers at Kohl's don't have to struggle with carrying their purchases. The employees are friendly, and the store seems very clean and well organized. I've always had a good experience when shopping at Kohl's retail store.

I also enjoy shopping online, and amazingly I haven't had a negative experience - until shopping at Kohls.com. My most recent experience shopping online at Kohls.com was negative to say the least, and I'm still trying to correct numerous problems. The following information provides details about my experience while shopping online with Kohls.com. Although this shopping experience may not be typical, for me it wasn't a difficult decision to never again shop online at Kohls.com. I'm not at all impressed.

Website Problems


A couple of weeks ago I spent a great deal of time choosing items to place in my shopping bag at Kohls.com, and when I checked out I never received a confirmation page. I called Kohls.com to ask if my order went through, and they said they were having website problems. The woman gave me a confirmation number but couldn't verify whether the order would actually be fulfilled. This was the first of many red flags that went up regarding this retail website. I had just placed an order totaling more than $200, and had spent about 45 minutes shopping on this site, and I had no idea if my order would arrive or not. If the company knew the website wasn't working properly, why didn't they display a message or take the site down temporarily? I wasted a great deal of time shopping and placing my order, and I couldn't buy the items elsewhere because I didn't know if the Kohls.com items were coming.

After my personal experience, I'll never shop online at Kohls.com again.

Hi, This online site is the worst for shopping. I've spent countless hours filling up a cart - just to have their online systems freeze and not process my order.

Since I wrote this I've decided I won't shop at the retail store either. That's a completely different article!

Thanks for this info! I've grown increasingly disappointed with our local Kohls store. I've never shopped online and now I never will.

I have shopped on kohls.com but never had any problems! Maybe I just shopped during an "off day"! In any case, thanks for a good, honest review! = )

Good grief, this is the worst on-line customer service I've ever seen. Won't be shopping there!

I really liked Khol's when they first opened in the area. Over time, I have grown disenchanted. I tried to pay off my bill one time, but they wouldn't accept my payment because I didn't have I.D. on me. Now, if I had mailed the check, would they have had I.D.? This made no sense to me, so they are on the bottom of the bill pile. No Christmas shopping there this year.

After this article was accepted, Kohls cancelled two of the items I ordered, and they did so without explanation. I'm assuming the items were no longer available, but I've never had this happen with any other online store. If it was out of stock I shouldn't have been able to order it in the first place. It was by far the worst online shopping experience ever, and I'll NEVER shop online at Kohls again! Take my advice - it just isn't worth the frustration!
