A Star Is Born. James Tupper was born on August 4, 1965 in Dartmouth, Novia Scotia.
Educated In Two Countries. James Tupper studied acting at Concordia University in Montreal and then at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Little has been written on why James Tupper traveled from his homeland of Canada to continue his education in the United States. We can only be happy he did or he may not have made his way to our television screens!
Where You've Seen Him Before. Before "Men In Trees," James Tupper had quite the impressive resume. He made his screen debut in the David Spade comedy, "Joe Dirt." This was followed with roles on the hit television series "Gilmore Girls," as well as "CSI:NY," and "How I Met Your Mother."
James Tupper also appeared in the Michael Landon Jr's western productions, "Love's Long Journey," and "Love's Abiding Joy." Michael Landon Jr. is the son of acclaimed actor Michael Landon of "Little House On The Prairie" fame. James Tupper also appeared in several off Broadway live performances. These interesting and diverse acting opportunities undoubtedly helped to prepare this gifted actor for his future starring role in "Men In Trees."
