Lillian M. Dunfee Elementary School in Barnegat New Jersey - School Review

Both of my daughters are fortunate enough to attend the Lillian M. Dunfee School on Barnegat Boulevard in Barnegat, New Jersey. My older daughter started Kindergarten there in the Fall of 2003. The Lillian M. Dunfee School had only instituted their full day Kindergarten program a year or two before, and I was nervous about how my daughter would adjust to the long day.

The Kindergarten session started at 9:50 AM and ended at 3:30 PM. The first week was rather difficult, but she soon adapted to the full school day with no problems. The Kindergarten program at the Lillian M. Dunfee School is a wonderful mix of learning basic skills, arts and crafts, socialization and play time. Nearly every day, Dara would proudly bring home an art project she had carefully created during the day. I was so pleased with her Kindergarten teacher's kindness and dedication to her students that I requested the same teacher for Emily when she entered Kindergarten.

The Lillian M. Dunfee School has a caring and dedicated staff that truly always has the children's best interests at heart. From the principal to the teachers and the custodial staff, I have never met a more caring and hardworking school staff. Every child's education and well being is a priority to the staff of the Lillian M. Dunfee School. The teachers make it a point to personally know each of their students and take a heartfelt interest into each student's life.

Parental involvement is strongly encouraged at the Dunfee school. There are ample opportunities for parents to volunteer their time during the school year. From chaperoning school dances and helping at the classroom parties to sharing skills and talents with the students during after school programs and Fun Fridays which is a monthly evening get together for the students, the parents of the Lillian M. Dunfee students can be involved as much as they choose in their children's school experiences.
